A quick disclaimer: All the essential oils and products recommended and mentioned below are in reference to Veronica Aromatherapy products only.
Hello everyone, it is time again for our Annual Sale!
Sourcing for oils has been problematic again this year. Due to great increases in freight cost, combined with low yield from farms due to lockdowns around the world, which in turn affects crops and production, and even workforce, it's not been easy! Our policy is always not to sell anything we don’t feel comfortable with, and so we feel incredibly lucky this year that we've managed to stock up just in time for the sale with sources we still have a strong connection to. We haven't always been able to get the organic variety due to lack of certifications, but the production was very good quality and so we relented and put them on our list.
We have made a variety of price adjustments. Some we could actually offer cheaper prices due to them being non-organically farmed, or others we acquired from a more direct source. However, others we had challenges with due to COVID-19 and its prolonged effects. We couldn’t compromise quality, so the prices will be higher. We had to move some oils into 10ml bottles for more attractive pricing, and some we had to lockout from discount this year, in particular our French Lavender. This was the most challenging product we had to source, and we didn’t want to price it higher for the rest of the year.
I hope you enjoy this year's selection… happy shopping!

Oils and Blends for Trying Times
The last few weeks have seen high surges in the number of COVID-19 cases causing many anxious moms and daughters to come forward, seeking advice on how to better protect their vulnerable ones at home—namely both the youngest and the oldest members of the family. Currently, we have the Anti-Infection blend that can use on your neck lymph nodes as an immunity guard. Simply apply the blend behind the ear, below the chin, and up to the other ear as a daily ritual. For this year’s Delta behaviour, however, I would like to introduce two new oils into my collection which I think will be very helpful, *and* baby-safe for weaker or growing immune systems.
Bay Laurel
5ml for $28.90
Laurus nobilis is the botanical name, also known as Laurel Leaf. It is a very soft and gentle oil, and a baby-safe alternative to the sharp notes of eucalyptus and peppermint. It does a wonderful job of decongesting the airways.
It’s best known as a 'lymphatics decongester', making it very suitable for children, either to vaporize, or apply on a tissue and tuck it somewhere near their pillow. It helps to break down congested mucous and free the airway. It is antivirus and anti-bacterial, and so suitable for prolonged coughs.
In use, it is effective either as an inhalant, or diluted and applied to the chest. It can also be applied neat on the sinus glands at the sides of the nostrils to open the airway, but not for more than a week as it can cause a rash reaction in some sensitive individuals.
I use a drop of Bay Laurel on my face when I get a sinus headache, and it helps to break down my congestion pain quickly. For added pain relief, I layer a drop of Peppermint over the painful headache zone. It typically numbs the pain quickly and lets me get back to sleep.
Recently, I had a case of an 11 year old child with heavy sinus and headaches issue. He is sensitive to the sharp smell of eucalyptus or peppermint. I got the mom to create an inhaler from kitchen towels for him to use after school, and to clear his airway to prepare for bed rest. It seems that he is sleeping better now. Mom said he puts a drop of oil in his face mask for school and he is happy to breathe so much better.
Ravintsara
$28.90 for 5ml
Botanical name Cinnamomum Camphora. A great antivirus and immunity-boosting oil. Soft and gentle, and baby-safe (as suggested by Patricia Davis); it has sharper more eucalyptus-like notes, but it doesn’t irritate.
Use a drop mixed into baby bath gel, then disperse for a protective and warm baby bath, helping to treat and prevent common coughs and colds. It's often a good thing to have while baby is going to nursery, play school, or childcare, because they so often come back with some sort of virus that spreads easily.
So that it is in the air around them at school, you can also put a drop on their shirt before they wear their uniforms in the morning. Moms have informed me that there is a difference when they forget or run out of the oil. It will only last for about 4 hours, then baby is home again anyway. If there is a sick person in the house, it is useful to have in a hot burner or vaporizer in a common space or hall. It works as a diffusion even in the bedroom; this oil is not going to disturb night rest, so it’s a good night oil to have. This helps to eradicate airborne germs and offers some protection to others in the household. I would recommend this as regular air disinfection, especially during these coming months.
Home Disinfection Tips
Airborne virus disinfection can be achieved with a traditional aromatherapy burner. Just apply 3 drops of Eucalyptus radiata and 2 drops of pine needle oil in a little warm water, once or twice a day per room space. This oil combination is a very broad spectrum airborne germ killer making it a very suitable home environment protection. The heated diffuser actives the oils quicker, and more potently. It permeates the air more than with other non-heated devices. Just make sure it stays out of reach of the kids!
You can add a drop of pine needle with your mop fluid to be dispersed into [clean!] mop water right before you run your mop over the floor. This will make sure the whole house is covered well, and totally disinfected. Other suitable oils with similar qualities to Pine are: Eucalyptus radiata, Niaouli and Ravintsara. You can use Bergamot or Lavender to soften the smell if you have babies in the home and are not keen on the sharp smells, as it still disinfects.
A Quick Note…
Lavender Population Organic French
$32.90 for 10ml nett
Unfortunately, the French Organically-Grown Population Lavender, otherwise known as ’True Lavender’, has risen in cost so much that it is now impossible to offer a good price for the sale. Therefore, we've had to put it on the nett price list with a reduced packaging size. This was in order to make it more affordable for you and cost effective for us, so that we all win. I will search for a better source of this plant, and hopefully next year we have better margins to offer.
… and Some New Additions!
A special treat for this annual sale season; I came up with an aromatherapy serum that will be perfect for gifting, and dressed it nicely with a frosted glass pump dispenser. They look so graceful and elegant!
This could be a His and Hers pairing or can be used alone. Alternatively, they can be used as a day (Energize) and night (Harmonize) serum. The options leave many possibilities with this pair! I made them so they match in their scent, and their components are complimentary to each other.
Energize Serum
$30.90 for 30ml
Made with Grapefruit, Petitgrain, Frankincense, and Black Spruce in a base of Aloe Vera gel and Carrot oil. It is meant for younger, energetic, masculine, or oily (or combination) acne-prone teenage skin.
It's super light, non-sticky texture absorbs in a minute - got the quick approval of my fussy sons, and for those who refuse to put any products on their face (mostly the male species) haha…!
I chose Carrot oil for rich nourishment, with retinol protection for the skin. It has some Spruce in it to give it a little zing energy in the mornings—a bit of a wake up for the nervous system. I enjoyed using it under my own day moisturizing lotion and sunblock, and it doesn’t add any weight. It has refreshing, citrusy, forest-like notes for the nose to give you a zap of energy and sunshine for your day.
Harmonize Serum
$30.90 for 30ml
Made with Grapefruit, Rose Geranium and Rosewood in Aloe Vera gel and Rosehip oil. It is meant for dehydrated, dry and mature skin. It is also meant to be layered more, and so is more watery in texture than the Energize. This makes it very light: use after your toner, but before your night cream. It's formulated to be combined with heavier products, or used with your day makeup before your makeup primer.
It is very light, non sticky, and absorbs quickly; a wonderful medium to use to diffuse essential oils into your skin. Rosehip is a skin-rejuvenating, cell-repairing oil. We combined it with detoxing Grapefruit, oil-balancing Rose Geranium, and the antiseptic nature of Rosewood. It is a beautiful, graceful scent that is citrusy-floral, with a hint of sweet woods, to thrill the nose and bring out harmony and a peaceful mood for your day (or night)!
A Special Deal: purchase any 2 serums and receive a 10% discount only for this sale season!
Stay tuned in the next couple of days for testimonials of some of our products by our very own Ivy and Xi En… !
