The 25th Anniversary of Our Annual 40% Off Sale!

Masso 25th Annual Sale

Thanks to all your loyal and warm support, we have arrived at our 25th year (a quarter century!) of the Annual 40% Sale event! What a journey it has been for our oil selection procurement, and the refinement of our quality and supply lines over the years…

In this event, I want to highlight some previously listed and precious finds that we had lost in the last few years due to harvest, production issues, and even disappearing suppliers. Let me introduce the oils in my current collection that I am particularly proud of, starting with my “star of the show”…

Rose Otto Bulgaria

5ml for $180

Yes, we found this precious oil from the Bulgarian region, with the rich and unique flavours of this large-size rose. It's steam distilled and on top of that, a steal priced at $180 (before discount)! For those of you who've been with me for a while, you might have heard me mention that I could not buy Rose Otto Organic for a reasonable price. Normally, I had to price it at **$360** for 5ml, but this year (maybe due to COVID, who knows?) I found this producer. It's not certified organic, but is just as beautiful and absolutely divine with a rich rosy smell. It's super potent; just one drop to your pulse points, or in your unscented face cream, carrier oil, or lotion will last a long time. Use 1 drop to 10ml dilution ratio, and enjoy the luxurious smell of this beautiful oil.

Rose Otto Bulgaria is good for inflammation or red, dry skin conditions. It is an ideal woman's tonic and strengthens without influencing the hormones. Uplifting and antidepressant, it's most valuable for any menopausal low mood swings. For precious oil pampering, use as a face oil; it brightens the face and adds a nice rosy glow. For use in diluted applications or inhalation, it's *deeply* relaxing. I dare not put it in a diffuser because of the price, but if you are super generous, 1-2 drops in a diffusor will last the night. I recommend a traditional candle burner or a warm stone type so that the rich oils and the lavish perfume will permeate the air around you.

Neroli

5ml for $90.90

Another great find: steam distilled Neroli from Egypt from the flowers of the bitter orange tree (where marmalade comes from)! Priced for the soft, sweet cologne-like fragrance, it has been touted to be an aphrodisiac. Just sprinkle a couple of drops or apply to your pulse points! It's often used in perfume and skin care. An ultimate anti-anxiety oil, it instantly calms when inhaled. Like the citrus oil of orange it has great digestion benefits. On skin it is used for sensitive or combination skin, balancing oily secretions. Use diluted or neat, it is well tolerate, from children to adults, and even pregnancy safe for water and gas issues.

Thyme Thujanol French Organic

5ml for $44.90

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Thyme "Thuyanol" (or "Thujanol" depending on the author!). It’s a very precious find. I have been trying to find the right one for *many* years and I truly love this gentle and very powerful oil. Organically farmed and steam distilled from France. Soft and beautiful, the Thujanol type of Thyme combines mild character with powerful antiviral and antibacterial qualities. It has a broad spectrum of activity against many infectious conditions while being extremely mild and well tolerated. Therefore, it's a good oil to have during the viral infectious season for both babies and children.

The Thyme Thujanol variety possesses all the therapeutic strength of the more aggressive thymes without their potentially skin irritant properties. Can also be used to address depression resulting from fatigue. Use neat or in diluted applications, in inhalation or diffusion. Baby safe.

Thyme Linalool French Organic

5ml for $38.90

At the same source of the Thujanol, I found Thyme Linalool, double celebration! Another really gentle oil useful for antiseptic skin care. Organically farmed and steam distilled from France. Soft, sweet and gentle—this species is often called "Sweet Thyme". It has a mild character and is very skin safe, often used as an antiseptic skincare oil, and found in acne blends and other topical formulas to help prevent bacterial infections. Use in face creams, gels, or lotions for the troublesome teenage breakouts. Use neat on acne or diluted in application. Can also be used as an inhalation, or in a diffusion as a mild antiseptic/antivirus for children.

Myrrh Somalia H2O Organic

5ml for $46.90

What is a Christmas season sale without talking about the precious oil of Myrrh? This source is an ethically-farmed organic in support of the Somalia direct farm. It provides work for rural Somalian women, and gives me great pleasure to support their cause. This is a steam distillation Myrrh which makes it less viscose than the CO₂ variety. This means it doesn’t crystallise so easily and is good for a longer shelf life.

Its properties are good for healing inflammation and pain, especially when paired with Frankincense. It’s good for photo oxidation, making it valuable for protection of the skin from ultra violet light and photo-aging. Planta Medica also suggests it has anti-hyper-glycemic effects (reduces blood sugar). Use in diluted application. Not recommended for air diffusion.

Rosewood Organic

5ml for $34.90

I'm excited to be able to introduce Rosewood oil once again. It was quite a challenge, because this was regarded as an extinct species. Rosewood has been marked for over harvesting, and there has been a long-time ban on the sale of it. Luckily for us, we found an ethically farmed, sustainable source.

This Rosewood is organically farmed and steam distilled from Peru. Beautiful, warm, floral-like smell. One of my favourite oils to use in perfuming. An antidepressant, and a general balancer to the emotions. Usually used in skin care products, it is said to stimulate new cell growth, regenerate tissues, and is helpful for reducing fine lines. It helps balance both dry and oily skin, and can prove helpful against acne. Use in diluted application, inhalation or diffusion.

Ceramic Aromatherapy Candle Burner

$18.90 each

Traditionally, aromatherapy diffusion before the advent of steam or mist-based burners used heat-based candle burners. I introduced this in my early practice 25 years ago, but stopped since there are so many gadgets and aromatherapy diffusers in the market—basically we're spoiled for choice!

I am bringing this item back, because I realised that many other forms of diffusers were less effective, or they'd lost focus on what aromatherapy air diffusion is *really* about. I noticed there was not enough permeation of the essential oils into the air. This is possibly due to the lack of heat, or maybe because it is mixed with water, the mist typically seems to contain a weaker proportion of the oil. When we did a smell test in class recently, the traditional candle burner seemed to do better. This is because the heat generally separates the oil, and the volatility (evaporation) of the essential oil is triggered. The lighter active molecules become airborne, diffuse into the air, and the therapeutic component of aromatherapy is effectively achieved.

The other type of therapeutic cold-air diffusion, if you really want the pure oils, is the type that sprays the essential oils into your room. To do that, you need to use a *whole* bottle of oil (10ml) per usage, and the effect only lasts for a few hours!

If you are feeling generous, this is the ultimate pure diffusion to harness the therapeutic values so proclaimed by the essential oil authors. I will just keep to simple basics and fall back on tradition; I'll to use my ceramic burner for general use because it's just a bit too extravagant for me!

We hope you like our collection, the new additions and the newly-found supplies this year—Happy Shopping!
